Recovering data from a MacBook depends on when it was made. Until 2015–2017 most MacBooks had a removable drive that we can read directly. Since 2016, almost every MacBook has its SSD soldered to the logic board, and since 2018 the data is also encrypted by Apple’s T2 chip or the Apple silicon chip. For those Macs, the logic board has to work before the data can be recovered – and that’s exactly the skill our engineers have.
We repair MacBook logic boards at component level – liquid damage, short circuits, charging and power faults – so the Mac can start and your data can be copied off safely. Read more about logic board data recovery.
