How our pricing works
We believe you should know what data recovery costs before you hand over your drive. Every job starts with a free initial consultation, where our engineers tell you whether the fault is physical or logical and the best way to recover your data. The consultation doesn’t include opening the drive or attempting a recovery.
If the drive has a physical fault, the next step is a clean room diagnostic (£79 + VAT). We then confirm the price from the list below, and nothing goes ahead until you approve it.

Physical data recovery (hard drives)
For 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch drives from all brands, including LaCie, Western Digital, Toshiba, Hitachi and Verbatim.

Services not listed
Phones, memory cards, USB sticks, servers with more than 10 drives, tape and emergency recoveries are quoted individually after the free initial consultation. Call 020 7394 2529 and we’ll give you a price.
Turnaround times
A clean room diagnostic normally takes around 24 hours. Standard recoveries are usually completed in 2–4 working days, and logical recoveries are priced by 24 to 48 hours of recovery work. For urgent cases, see our emergency data recovery service.
Why use a professional data recovery lab?
Recovery software and DIY fixes can permanently destroy data on a failing drive. Our engineers work in an ISO 5 (Class 100) clean room with professional repair and imaging tools, so the first attempt is the right one. Is the initial consultation really free?
Yes. The initial consultation is free and tells you whether the fault is physical or logical and the best recovery method. It doesn’t include opening the drive in the clean room, which is the £79 + VAT clean room diagnostic.
What is a donor drive and why do I need to buy it?
A donor drive is an identical working drive whose parts (usually the heads) are used to repair yours. We send you a link to buy the right one from donordrives.com. If you’d rather we buy it, a 30% mark-up applies plus import charges and VAT.
How much does it cost to recover deleted files?
Recovering deleted files from a standard hard drive costs £99 + VAT, including up to two hours of work. Larger jobs needing 24–48 hours of recovery work cost £150 + VAT (1TB) to £250 + VAT (4TB).
How much does RAID recovery cost?
RAID 0 recovery is £650 + VAT. RAID 5, 6 and 10 recovery costs £850 + VAT to £1,500 + VAT, depending on the number of drives to repair and rebuild.
Is the external drive for my data included?
No. External drives are available to buy for the data transfer at the current market price.
Do your prices include VAT?
No. All prices are shown excluding VAT, which is added at the standard rate.
