Samsung 860 EVO, 870 EVO, 850 PRO or another 2.5-inch Samsung SSD failed? We recover data from every Samsung SATA SSD.
Samsung’s 2.5-inch SATA SSDs are the most popular upgrade drives for laptops and desktops. They are generally reliable, but several ranges have known problems: the 840 EVO slowed down reading older data until a firmware update, and some 870 EVO drives made in 2021 developed large numbers of bad blocks and read errors.
When a Samsung SSD disappears from the computer, shows the wrong capacity or becomes read-only, the data can often still be recovered by repairing the firmware or bypassing the failed controller.

After a free initial consultation, we identify the controller and firmware state of your SSD. Firmware and board faults are repaired with professional PC-3000 SSD equipment so the drive can be read; where the controller has failed completely, the flash memory is read directly and the data reassembled. We then rebuild the file system and check your files. Stop using an SSD as soon as data goes missing – TRIM can erase deleted data within minutes.
Copy your most important files immediately if the drive still works, then stop using it. If it has already failed, send it to us.
SSD firmware or electronic board repair costs £450 + VAT to £650 + VAT depending on complexity. The consultation is free.
