About Drobo NAS
Drobo’s network models share files over your office or home network. As well as BeyondRAID, they use their own internal file system layout, and some store data in mSATA SSD caches (on the 5N and 5N2).
We recover these units from images of every disk and any cache SSD, reconstructing the BeyondRAID pack and the shares on top of it.

How we recover your data
Drobo units use BeyondRAID, Drobo’s own way of spreading data across disks of different sizes. It isn’t standard RAID, so ordinary RAID tools can’t rebuild it. We image every disk, then reconstruct the BeyondRAID layout and the file system from the images. Drobo products have been discontinued and the company behind them entered bankruptcy in 2023, so there is no manufacturer support – specialist recovery is the only option when a pack fails.

Do you need the mSATA SSD from my 5N2?
Yes, if one is fitted. It may hold recently written data. Send it with the disks.
